The McCann Summer School in Manchester once again delivered an unforgettable experience for students from NWCC Comino Schools. Pupils from TEMA, Abraham Moss Community School joined six other NWCC schools to tackle a live creative brief, developing Vimto’s ad campaign.

Over two inspiring days, students explored the world of advertising, learning about careers in creative, strategy, social media and account management. They also enjoyed an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of McCann’s Craft studios, where they met photographers, animators, character designers and 2D and 3D specialists, while discovering the impressive production facilities that bring campaigns to life.
Armed with new knowledge and industry insight, each team developed and pitched its campaign idea. Judged by senior leaders from McCann and Vimto, the winning concept featured a heartwarming nostalgia-themed Christmas advert supported by an engaging social media campaign.

“This is amazing. I’ve never been anywhere like this. There is so much going on. It must be such a fun place to work, and I didn’t realise there were so many different roles in advertising.” – Student
