As part of MADE’s Creative Leadership Programme, Cedar Mount Academy students had the responsibility of deciding how to spend a micro-grant for a group of their students on a cultural activity.
The two students in charge decided that it would be best to spend the grant on a trip to the theatre for drama students during school hours. The group ended up watching a play called ‘Teechers’ – a piece about three actors multi-rolling between students and teachers, the actors were mocking both the role of student and teacher in a humorous but accurate way.
The group loved the production and found it incredible fun to watch – many people couldn’t stop laughing at the subtle jokes being made, and some of the characters went from a strict teacher to a student to then to a flamboyant professor. Tt was extremely entertaining and they continuously had the audience entertained.
51 students went on the trip, and everyone shared how inspiring it was to see professional actors on stage completely disappearing into their characters.
